Jimmy Don "Duke" White

Jimmy Don “Duke” White, age 64, resident of Oakland and husband of Carrie Beesley White, departed this life Monday evening, November 19, 2018 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

A Funeral Service for Mr. White was held at 1 P.M. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Collierville First Pentecostal Church with Bro. Terry Hunt officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. White was 64 years old. He was a graduate of Bolton High School in Arlington, Tennessee and was married June 22, 1984 to the former Carrie Beesley. He served his electrical apprenticeship at Haynes Electric and then later retired from Cleo Wrap after 29 years of service. He was currently employed as a maintenance technician for Federal Express. Mr. White was a member of the Collierville First Pentecostal Church and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, watching old movies and taking care of his animals. He was also very involved in canine search and rescue groups.

Mr. White is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carrie Beesley White of Oakland, TN and three brothers, Johnny White (Laretta) of Henning, TN, Phillip White of Memphis, TN and Mark White (Cindy) of Moscow, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake White, Jr. and Carol Sue Gateley White and his sister who died at birth, Linda White.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Joel Skinner, Jeffrey Skinner, Patrick Smallwood, Caleb Shackelford, Vince Kelley, John Flowers and Bobby Sides. Honorary pallbearers were Butch Hunter, Joe Skinner, Jon Sullivan, Doc Gardocki, Jack I. Porter and Andy Phillips.
