Jo Anne Kennon

Jo Anne Kennon, age 56, resident of Moscow, Tennessee, departed this life Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Ms. Kennon were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Dennis Neenan, pastor of Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Ms. Kennon was born August 3, 1961 in Somerville, Tennessee. She received her education in the Fayette County School System and was a lifelong resident of the Moscow and Somerville areas. She attended Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Moscow and will be remembered for raising money and preparing food for local benefit events.

Ms. Kennon became blind but she did not let that stop her. She enjoyed sitting at Bishop Tax Office in Somerville and answering the phone for her Aunt Faye Bishop. She also helped at A Touch of Southern Charm Flower Shop and could sort through flowers even though she was blind. She knew who she was speaking to just by the sound of their voice. Ms. Kennon enjoyed cooking and being around children.

Ms. Kennon is survived by her loving aunt, Faye Bishop of Somerville, TN; three sisters, Audrey Carter of Moscow, TN, Terry Manley (Steve) of Saulsbury, TN, Janice Kennon (Chris) of Moscow, TN; her brother, Johnny Kennon (Libby) of Moscow, TN; her uncle, Dan Moore of Finger, TN; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Brad), Cynthia (Jimmy), Stevie (Donna), Travis, Amy (Shannon), Casey; great-nieces and great-nephews, R.J. (Sierra), Destiny, Trinity, Braeleigh; cousins, Ricky Moore, Ralph Moore, Beverly Bishop, David Bishop; along with a whole county that loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Belden Kennon and Ora Virginia Johnson Kennon; her brother, Rex Allen Kennon; and her brother-in-law, William Carter.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Michael Robinson, Lee Yager, Dustin Yager, Timothy Yager, Bradley Phillips and Willie Jeff Wiles.
