JOE ROBERT LAKE, resident of the District 15 Community in Fayette County and native of Hardeman County died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville where he was taken after becoming suddenly ill at his home. He was 64 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Funeral services for Mr. Lake were conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, June 26th at the Graveside. Interment followed in the Lake Cemetery near Hickory Valley, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Lake was born October 7, 1945 in the Hickory Valley Community, the son of the late Tommy D. Lake and the late Mattie Ward Lake. He received his education in the Hardeman County Public School System and had been a resident of Fayette County for 13 years. He was a former resident of Franklin, Tennessee where he was employed by a landscaping company and in recent years had served as a property caretaker for the Houston Enterprises in Fayette County.
Mr. Lake is survived by his two sisters Annie Mae Lake of Jackson, TN, Tommie Lue Jestice of Mercer, TN, two brothers, O.B. Lake of Jackson, TN and Troy Lake of Jackson, TN.
Family members and friends served as casketbearers and the family request that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
