Mr. Joe Payne, age 51 and resident of the Gallaway Community died Thursday morning, December 29, 2011 at Gallaway Health Care Center.
Services for Mr. Payne will be at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment in Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mr. Payne will be from 1 until 2 Tuesday afternoon at the Peebles Main Chapel in Somerville.
Mr. Payne was born May 28, 1960 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Henry Mason, Sr. and Dorothy Lee Butler Payne. He received his education in the Memphis Area Public School System and lived in the Memphis area for most of his life. Mr. Payne enjoyed listening to music, having cookouts and barbecues with his family and special times with his family and friends.
Mr. Payne is survived by four sisters, Dorothy Payne Burks, Ida Raye Collins, Janice G. Perry, Joyce Mason Jones, all of Memphis; his brother, Cedric Mason of Memphis; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Dennis Payne.
