Joe Allen Perritt

JOE ALLEN PERRITT, resident of the Somerville Community & son of Joe W. & Charlotte Perritt, died at 3:15 A.M. Friday February 22, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital of Fayette in Somerville where he had been a patient for six days. He was 52 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Perritt were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday February 24th at the Somerville First United Methodist Church. The officiating ministers were Rev. Walter German of Jackson and Dr. Joe Piercey of Memphis, former pastors of the church. Personal remarks were given by Rev. Diane Harrison of Memphis, a former associate pastor of the church. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Perritt was born February 1, 1956, in Magnolia, AR, the son of Joe W. Perritt and Charlotte Smith Perritt. He moved at an early age with his parents to Kosciusko, MS where he attended special education schools. He was a member of the Somerville First United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Fayette County since 1985. Mr. Perritt enjoyed music and visits with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Lorraine Ross and Marcie Miciak, both of Memphis; two nieces, Rebecca Ross and Rachel Ross, both of Memphis.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were David Alford, Jeff Cagle, Willie German, Dr. Jamie Jenkins, Dr. Will Middlecoff and Everett Woods.
The family request that memorials be directed to the Somerville First United Methodist Church, 202 South East Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
