Joe Watson Perritt

Joe Watson Perritt, age 78, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Charlotte Perritt, departed this life Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Perritt were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Monday, September 28, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Somerville with Rev. Stan McDaniel, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Perritt was born September 17, 1937 in Magnolia, Arkansas. Mr. Perritt received his education from Mount Holly, Arkansas School System and was a 1960 graduate of United Electronics where he studied electronics in Lexington, Kentucky. He had been a resident of Somerville since 1985 and was the retired Manager of Somerville Mills Manufacturing. He was married February 19, 1955 to the former Charlotte Smith, who survives. A member of First United Methodist Church in Somerville, he was a devoted family man, dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He enjoyed his computer, technology of all kinds and repairing televisions and other electronics.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis H. Perritt and Levenia McWilliams Perritt, one son, Joe Allen Perritt and his foster sister, Margaret Rogers.

In additional to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Perritt is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Perritt Ross and Marcia Perritt Miciak, both of Somerville and two grandchildren, Rebecca Purcell (Kent) of Memphis and Rachel Ross of Somerville.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jamie Jenkins, Bob Maddox, Junior Johnson, Everett Woods, Jeff Cagle and Will Middlecoff. Honorary pallbearers were Whit Middlecoff, Jon Forbus, Ralph Myers, George Perry, Johnny Williams, Bob Young and Robert Seemann.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 202 S. East Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
