Joey Dewayne Pleasants

Joey Dewayne Pleasants, age 42, resident of Medina, Tennessee and husband of Rose Pleasants, departed this life Friday morning, March 17, 2017 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Pleasants were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Tony Watkins of Moscow, officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Pleasants was born August 13, 1974 in Huntingdon, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Fayette Ware High School Class of 1991 and received his Associates Degree at the Southeast College of Technology. He was married December 31, 2008 to the former Rose Burkeens and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Pleasants was formerly employed at TLM & Associates in Jackson for 12 years and was most recently employed as a CAD Designer at HFR Design in Brentwood. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, fishing and cooking.  He loved life and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan.

Mr. Pleasants is survived by his wife, Rose Pleasants of Medina, TN; two daughters, Alyssa Anna Pleasants of Medina, TN, Emmy Jade Pleasants of Medina, TN; his son, Jonathan Dewayne Pleasants of Memphis, TN; his parents, Albert Ronnie Pleasants and Melissa Carol Pleasants of Moscow, TN; his sister, Amanda Carol Sowell (Mitchell Sowell) of Somerville, TN; his brother, Ronald Nicholas Pleasants (Reanna Dawn Holt) of Somerville, TN; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Edith Walker of Holly Springs, MS.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Matthew Sowell, Anthony Rhodes, Nick Pleasants, Jay Welch, Mitchell Sowell, Jonathan Pleasants, Landon Williams and Jason Burns. Honorary pallbearers were Rob Peterson and Collyn Sowell.
