Daniel Joseph “Joey” Wardlaw, II, age 24, resident of Somerville and son of Daniel and Alexandra Wardlaw, departed this life Friday, March 10, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Services of Remembrance for Joey were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Stephen Kenny, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Joey was born July 31, 1992 in Houston, Texas. He moved to Fayette County with his family at an early age and was a graduate of Fayette Ware High School Class of 2010. He was employed as a chef at Chili’s Restaurant and was a tattoo artist. Joey enjoyed working on automobiles, writing song lyrics, cooking, collecting hats, making people laugh and was an artist.
Joey is survived by his parents, Daniel and Alexandra Wardlaw of Somerville, TN; his sister, Amanda Wardlaw of Memphis, TN; his maternal grandparents, Hernando and Neila Porto of Colombia, South America; his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Wardlaw Majkrzak of Oakland, TN; and his fiancée, Shanice Cooper of Somerville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert H. Wardlaw.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ben Dalby, Kevin Dalby, Jeremy Burch, Corio Fleming, Patrick Ryan and Trevin Hullom.
