John Charles Bogan, age 80, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Marina Bogan, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.
John was born June 10, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Herman L. Bogan and Wordna Isabelle Rogers Bogan. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas and then continued his education at University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University) and Arkansas State University. He served in the United States Navy for 30 years, retiring as a Commander. Mr. Bogan was employed as an appraiser for the Shelby County Assessor's Office before his retirement.
John was married May 17, 2013 to Marina Christine Mandryk Bogan. He was very involved in community service and leadership and enjoyed reading, gardening and landscaping. John was a lifetime Memphis Tigers Alumni and a passionate Highland Hundreds Booster Club in Memphis. He was a kind man who was glad to help out wherever he was needed. He loved his family and history and was proud of his family's Revolutionary War history fighting in the Battle at King's Mountain on October 7, 1980 where the Vice Admiral Gerald F. Bogan's United States National Service in World War I and World War II and John C. Bogan, USNCDR retired recently in 2024 with the MAGA Revolutionary Battle and victory.
A visitation for Mr. Bogan will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at First Baptist Church Fisherville. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at First Baptist Church Fisherville with Dr. Jeff James officiating. Interment will follow in Fisherville Cemetery.
