John David Pulliam

April 3, 1930 — September 13, 2016

John David Pulliam, age 86, resident of Rossville and husband of Sue Elder Pulliam, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2016 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Pulliam were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, September 16, 2016 at the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Rossville with Susan Atkinson officiating. A Private Interment was in the New Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Pulliam was born April 3, 1930 in Rossville. He was a graduate of Collierville High School and employed as a chemical plant operator for DuPont Chemical Company for many years before his retirement. He was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area and a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Pulliam enjoyed farming, crappie fishing and bird hunting.

Mr. Pulliam is survived by his wife, Sue Elder Pulliam of Rossville; his daughter, Ann Murray (Steve) of Rossville; two sons, David Pulliam (Sandra) of Bartlett, Wray Pulliam (Miriam) of Alamo; five grandchildren, Matthew Pulliam, Taylor Pulliam, Meredith Marbury, Megan Pulliam, Julia Stonebrook; and three great grandchildren, Madeline Pulliam, Lowery Marbury and Oakleigh Marbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert Harvey Pulliam, Sr. and Sallie Jenkins Pulliam; his sister, Faye Pulliam; and his brother, Rupert Harvey Pulliam, Jr.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were J.B. Chambers, Jerre Turner, Leslie Culicutt, Cole Stonebrook, Matt Pulliam, Andy Pulliam, James Clay Gaither and Milton Chambers.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 713 S. Mendenhall Road, Memphis, TN 38117.
