John Timothy ("Tim") Carlton

John Timothy (“Tim”) Carlton departed this life on Monday, February 17, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Clements Carlton, daughter Sarah Clements, stepdaughters April Clements and Brandy Clements, grandchildren and great grandchildren (Michael Clements, Blake Thompson, Macie Thompson, Gracelyn Thompson, Brayden Kennon, Karter Holland, Tony McCulley, Destiney Hendrix and, due any day now, Kohen Thompson), his brother-in-law Eddie Roberts, sister-in-law Dolores Jones, and his brother, Mark Carlton (Marsha Carlton) of North, Virginia.

Tim was born in Waco, Texas on October 28, 1953, but was raised in Memphis. He graduated from S. Watkins Overton High School, Memphis State University, and The University of Tennessee School of Nursing. Tim had a diverse career serving as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis, artistic landscaping in and around the Mid-South area, and working as a drilling mud engineer at oil and gas well sites in Texas, Colorado and other states. Tim and Judy lived in Somerville for over 40 years. Tim will be greatly missed by his family and his friends, especially Hailey and Miranda Roberts, Dale Gray and Troy Tomlin.
