John Montgomery Wilson, age 41, resident of Louisville, Kentucky, former resident of the Arlington Community and senior recruiter for Allstate Insurance Company died Saturday evening, August 25, 2012 at the Baptist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky where he had been a patient for four days.
Services for Mr. Wilson will be at 7 Thursday evening at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with a visitation from 6 until 7 Thursday evening at the Peebles West Chapel at Oakland. A Private Family Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson was born February 9, 1971 in Columbus, Mississippi, the son of the former Jimmie Martin and Sam T. Wilson, Jr. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System, was a graduate of Bolton High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the Christian Brothers University in Memphis.
He had been employed as a Senior Recuiter for the Allstate Insurance Company for a number of years and had been a resident of Louisville for the past nine years. A Presbyterian and member of the TKE Fraternity, Mr. Wilson found much enjoyment in serving others through numerous volunteer organizations that he had been associated with in past years. Outdoor activities and health exercises were favorite pastimes.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his mother, Jimmie Martin Wilson of Starksville, MS; his father, Sam T. Wilson, Jr. and wife, Vicki Wilson of Paragould, AR; his sister, Tammie Dixon of Lakeland; his niece, Lauren Montgomery Dixon; and his nephew, Jacob Tucker Rowland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Arlington Library named in honor of Mr. Wilson’s grandfather: Sam T. Wilson Public Library, 11968 Walker Street, Arlington, TN 38002.
