John Lamar Chandler, resident of the Moscow Community, retired plastic industry supervisor and husband of Agnes Chandler died Wednesday evening, August 8, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown where he had been a patient for three days. He was 78 years of age and died following an illness of three months.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Chandler were conducted at 12 Noon Monday, August 13th at the Grand Junction First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Pickens of the Harvest Souls Church of God in Savannah, Tennessee officiating. Interment was private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Chandler was born August 27, 1933 in Duncan, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Esau Chandler and Vera Beatrice Gilmore Chandler. He moved at an early age with his family to Arkansas and received his education in the Arkansas Public School System. He was a former resident of Michie, Tennessee before moving to the Moscow Community six years ago.
He was associated with the Plastic Injection Molding Insdustry for 35 years and was employed by the Redmer and Sons Plastics of Franklin Park, Illinois before his retirement. Mr. Chandler was a dedicated member of the Savannah Church of God and his interests included fishing, hunting, bowling, baseball, billiards and motorcycles.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Chandler is survived by two daughters, Debra Lynn Chandler of Bolivar, Hope Elizabeth Chandler Briley of Grand Junction; two sons, Stanley Lamar Chandler (Linda) of Hot Springs, AR, Randy Eugene Chandler (Julie) of Des Plaines, IL; his sister, Betty Watson of Grenada, MS; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
