Johnnie Louise Garner Hopkins, age 52, resident of Selmer, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday morning, January 11, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, Mississippi.
Services for Ms. Hopkins will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Ms. Hopkins was born September 25, 1965 in California and moved to Selmer, Tennessee early in life. Ms. Hopkins was considered a “Jane of All Trades”, a super woman that could do it all. She was a “daddy’s girl” who spent many years taking care of her family. The life of the party, she would give you her last breath for her own. Ms. Hopkins was a very good micromanager who had a leader mentality.
She was self-employed as well as a business manager and an auctioneer over 30 years. She was the owner of J&H Auctioneer Company and also an alcohol and drug counselor for many years. She loved the special times she had with her children and grandchildren, dancing, listening to music and grilling.
Ms. Hopkins is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Osborn Pickett of Bethel Springs, TN; her son, Alex Osborn (Janice) of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren, Scarlett Pickett, William Conrad Pickett, Havyn Osborn, Devyn Osborn, Madison Osborn; her uncle, Lonnie Garner of Finger, TN; two nephews, Rodney Sutton of Milledgeville, TN, Randy Sutton of Selmer, TN; two nieces, Bonnie Marie Guy of Corinth, MS, Teresa Guy-Mitchell of Muscle Shoals, AL; and her companion, Joe Harris of Selmer, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Columbus Garner; her mother, May Lou Baggett Garner; her stepmother, Carol Christona Garner; and two sisters, Bonnie Sue Shermerhorn and JoAnn Sutton.
