Johnny Swayne Culver

Johnny Swayne Culver, age 63, resident of Bartlett and husband of Elaine Pepper Culver, departed this life Monday morning, December 26, 2016 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Culver were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville. The officiating ministers were Bro. Michael Blaylock, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bartlett and Bro. David Peace, pastor of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Culver was born April 11 1953 in Somerville, Tennessee. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and served his country in the United States Army National Guard for six years. Mr. Culver was a lifelong resident of the West Tennessee area and he was a former member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bartlett before his death. He was a residential and commercial painter for over 40 years and enjoyed outdoor activities that included hunting, fishing and participating in dog shows.

Mr. Culver is survived by his wife whom he married October 15, 1976, Elaine Pepper Culver of Bartlett, TN and three sisters, Norma Holden of Olive Branch, MS, Brenda Culver of Somerville, TN and Patricia Norman of Cordova, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius B. Culver and Frances Louise Leath Culver and his twin brother, Ronnie Wayne Culver.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Vance Culver, David Culver, Derick Culver, Tim Parks, Blain Holden and Clint Culver.
