Johnny Royce King

Johnny Royce King, age 58, resident of Somerville and husband of Betty Gail King, departed this life Saturday afternoon, December 17, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. King were conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Kevin Treadway of Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. King was born July 10, 1958 in Somerville. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County. He was married November 25, 1981 to the former Betty Gail McGarrh and he was a mechanic for Standard Construction in Germantown for many years. Mr. King was of the Christian faith and enjoyed watching television, especially Westerns and Superman, playing games on his cell phone, working on cars and special times with his grandchildren.

Mr. King is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty Gail King of Somerville, TN; three daughters, Angela King of Athens, TX, Teresa King of Athens, TX, Kimberly King of Somerville, TN; two sons, Adam King (Laurie) of Jackson, TN, Scottie King (Stephanie) of Moscow, TN; his sister, Bessie Sides (Phillip) of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Morris King (Loraine) of Somerville, TN, Jimmy King (Laverne) of Whiteville, TN, Gene King (Jane) of Somerville, TN; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther King and Loretta Kee King and three brothers, Tompy King, Raymond King and Dickey Ray King.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Anthony German, Shane German, Steven Sides, Raymond Junior King, Dustin King, Bradley King, Jeremy King and John Allen King.
