Johnny David McKnight

Johnny David McKnight, age 69, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of Dorothy Wilson McKnight. departed this life Monday morning, December 18, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. McKnight were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Joey Edwards officiating. Interment followed in the New Salem Cemetery at Bethel Springs, Tennessee. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. McKnight was born June 13, 1948 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Collierville High School in Collierville, Tennessee and was employed as an electrician for the Local 474 Electrical Union before his retirement. He was married November 23, 1985 to the former Dorothy Wilson and he enjoyed visiting people and had a fondness for old cars and old clocks.

Mr. McKnight is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy Wilson McKnight of Eads, TN; his sister, Cindy Shackelford (Jim) of Lake Charles, LA; and his nephew, Aaron Shackelford (Chelsey) of Lake Charles, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. McKnight and Bonnie Milner McKnight.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bobby Madden, Mike Jumper, Mike Rial, Larry Lewis, Buster Orr and Aaron Shackelford.
