JOSHUA WESLEY BESINGER

September 30, 1982 — February 3, 2008

JOSHUA WESLEY (JOSH) BESINGER, a resident of Memphis with extended family members in Fayette County, died at 5:15 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at his residence in Memphis. He was 25 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Mr. Besinger were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 9th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Doug Simmers, officiating.  Graveside services were at 3 P.M. Saturday at the Sardis Lake Baptist Cemetery near Sardis, MS. Arrangments were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Besinger was born September 30, 1982, in Memphis, the son of the former Janis Garrison and the late Bobby Besinger. He was educated in the Memphis City public school system and was a graduate of the Ridgeway High School in Memphis.

Mr. Besinger was a member of the Central Church in Memphis and had been associated with the construction industry throughout his life.

A muti-talented person, Mr. Besinger enjoyed the arts including the writing of poetry and as an artist. He was an accomplished musician playing numerous instruments that included drum, guitar and keyboard. Mr. Besinger was mechanically inclined and known for his ability in repairing any type of motors and machinery.

Mr. Besinger is survived by his son, Joshua Kaleb of Memphis; his mother & stepfather, Janis Lee Moore & Mark Moore of Memphis; his sisters, Lindsay M. Besinger of Memphis, Karen D. Nicholson of Cape Girardeau, MO; his brothers, M. Jordan Moore and Micah Joel Moore, both  of Memphis; his maternal grandparents, Sharon McQueen of Holly Springs, MS, Joel Lee Garrison of Collierville and his paternal grandmother, Mary Inez Dobbins of Batesville, MS.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Mark Moore, Roger Besinger, Micah Moore, Jordan Moore, Landon Marino and Scottie Shapard.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
