Joy Tillman Keeling, age 74, resident of the Macon Community and wife of Thomas Ray "Tom" Keeling, departed this life Friday morning, October 16, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Keeling were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Fisherville First Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Moore, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fisherville Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Keeling was born July 21, 1941 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, James V. Tillman and Mary Jane Howard Tillman. She received her education in the Memphis City School System and was the wife of Thomas Ray “Tom” Keeling, who survives. Mrs. Keeling was a longtime resident of Shelby and Fayette counties and was a member of the Fisherville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds and blue birds, and special times with her family.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Mrs. Keeling is survived by her son, Stephen Keeling (Amanda); two brothers, Jim Tillman of Huntsville, AL, Tommy Thompson (Joyce) of Bartlett; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Ann Keeling, Lisa Lynn Fuller and her sister, Carol Barker.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Billy Ray Mynatt, Johnie Mynatt, Keith Allen, John Smith, Ken Daniels and Terry Russom. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Sayle, David Garner, Jeff Penn, John Clayton and Dalton Stover.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fisherville First Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 11893 Macon Road, Eads, TN 38028.
