Joyce Ann Houston Kee, resident of the Liberty Community in Fayette County and wife of the late James T. Kee died Wednesday evening, February 23, 2011 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where had been a patient for one week. She was 75 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Kee were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 26

at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Jim Whitley of the Liberty Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Springhill Cemetery near Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Kee was born in the Macon Community of Fayette County on July 17, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman Houston and Daisy Elizabeth Rose Houston. Mrs. Kee received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and considered Fayette County her home throughout her lifetime.
She was member of the Liberty Baptist Church and had resided in the Springhill/Liberty Community for the past 30 years. Mrs. Kee was a homemaker and will be remembered as a person devoted to her family and friends. She served as a caregiver to many throughout her life.
Mrs. Kee’s survivors include her daughters: Lynda Miles (Jim) of Arlington, TN, Sue Quarles (David) of Collierville, Barbara Ellen Thweatt (Stephen) of Rockwell, NC; her son: Billy R. Giles of the Liberty Community of Fayette County; two sisters: Kathy and Carol; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers included Jim Miles, David Quarles Brian Trigg and Kevin Trigg.
