John Thomas “J.T.” Tacker, age 90, resident of Moscow and husband of Christine Tacker, departed this life Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Tacker were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Wayne Hodge, minister of Forty-Five Baptist Church in Moscow, officiating. He was assisted by Bro. Lynn Eagan of Collierville. Interment followed in the Forty-Five Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Tacker was born August 3, 1926 in Arkansas, the son of the late John Tacker and the late Blanche Reeves Tacker. He served as a Baptist Minister and was employed at Suburban Propane in Somerville as a truck driver for many years before his retirement. He was married March 31, 1989 to the former Christine Leatherwood and was a longtime resident of the Fayette County area. Mr. Tacker was a member of Forty-Five Baptist Church in Moscow and enjoyed camping in earlier years, reading and visiting people.
Mr. Tacker is survived by his wife, Christine Tacker of Moscow, TN; his daughter, Sandra Adair (Billy) of Moscow, TN; three sons, Jerry Tacker (Shirley) of Moscow, TN, Ricky Tacker (Jeannie) of Middleton, TN, Chris Tacker (Linda) of Lamar, MS; his stepdaughter, Bekki Shaw (Wayne) of Lamar, MS; his stepson, Phil Skelton of Lamar, MS; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jacob Fryer, Carl Fryer, Paul Brandon, Stevie Lipford, Sherman Adair, Tony Skelton and Billy Joe Adair.
