J.T. "Rusty" Harris, Jr.

J.T. “Rusty” Harris, Jr., age 58, resident of Fayette County, departed this life Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2015 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Harris were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, March 20th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Tony Watkins of Moscow officiating. Personal remarks were given by Vip Lewis and special music was provided by Logan McGhee and Bill Rhea. A Private Family Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Harris was born October 17, 1956 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. Harris, Sr. and Gladys Hall Harris. He was a graduate of Fayette Academy Class of 1975 where he served as the Vice President of his graduating class. He was employed as a heating and air conditioning technician and was the Moscow Fire Department Volunteer Fire Chief for several years. Mr. Harris enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars and trucks and his family states he could fix and repair anything.

Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter, Ashley Harris Ramsey (Brian) of Colorado Springs, CO; his son, Jonathan Harris of Michigan City, MS; his sister, Ginny Harris Weeks of Bartlett; three brothers, Jerry Harris (Diane) of Mason, Tommy Harris (Janie) of Somerville, Frank Harris (Brenda) of Mountain Home, AR; and three grandchildren, Ava Ramsey, Penny Ramsey and Nancy Ramsey, all of Colorado Springs, CO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Harris Reed.
