Juanita Ramelle (Wiles) Gray

October 9, 1950 — June 3, 2016

Juanita Ramelle Wiles Gray, age 65, resident of Somerville and retired licensed practical nurse, departed this life Friday morning, June 3, 2016 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Gray were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, June 6. 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Dr. Clinton Buck officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Gray was born October 9, 1950 in Somerville. She was a graduate of Fayette Academy and received her nursing degree. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse for 30 years at the Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar before her retirement. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed watching television, especially old Westerns, “Saddle Up Saturdays” and the True Inspirational Channel, listening to music, especially Elvis Presley, working puzzle books, penguins and her cat, Milo. Caring for others was an important part of her life.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her daughter, Linda Carol Gray of Somerville; her son, Jimmy Dale Gray, Jr. and his fiancée, Kara Alexander, of Somerville; three brothers, Ashley Gilliam Wiles, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Memphis, James O. Wiles, Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Williston, Harry N. Wiles and his wife, Janice, of Somerville; and three grandchildren, Christopher Michael Gray, Brittney Nichole Gray and James Dalton Gray, all of Somerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashley Gilliam Wiles, Sr. and Mabel Elizabeth Sealand Wiles.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Chris Gray, Justin Hays, Timothy Morrow, Marvin Umbarger, Joshua Wiles and Mike Cannon. Honorary pallbearers were James Anthony, Sr., Jason Conner, Dalton Gray, Curtis Conner, Robert Dulaney and Jimmy Wiles.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, c/o Harry Wiles, 106 East Marginal Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
