Juanita Moss Lamar, age 88, resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, former resident of the Moscow - LaGrange Communities and wife of the late Luther Lamar died in Knoxville.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Moss was conducted at 11 Saturday morning at the Friendship Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements were provided by the Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Lamar was born June 5, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents, Honley and Effie Moss, longtime residents of the Moscow Community. Mrs. Lamar was a devoted member of the Grand Junction First Baptist Church in earlier years and was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church at Knoxville at the time of her death.
She was married August 30, 1965 to Luther Lawrence Lamar, a manufacturer’s representative and United States Marine Corps Veteran, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1995. She was a devoted homemaker and will be remembered for her neat appearance and her kindness to family and friends. She enjoyed crosstitching and antiquing as long as health permitted.
Mrs. Lamar is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Pollard (Ralph) of Knoxville; two sisters, Ernestine Conners Brevard of Pensacola, FL, Mai Ida Stiles of Moscow; two brothers, James Henry Moss of Olive Branch, MS, Joe Boyd Moss of Moscow; two grandchildren, Ralph Thomas “Tad” Pollard, Jr. (Galina), Mary Lydia Pollard; and two great granddaughters, Samantha Pollard and Kira Pollard.
Mrs. Lamar was also preceded in death by her grandparents, James Sam Watkins and Minnie Watkins.
