Julia (Chambers) McCulley

December 13, 1934 — September 9, 2012

Julia Chambers McCulley, resident of the Somerville Community and mother of Debbie Michael died Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for one month. She was 77 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Ms. McCulley were conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 12th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Loyd Shelton of Rossville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Ms. McCulley was born December 13, 1934 in Tishomingo, Mississippi. She received her education in the Mississippi Public School System. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was formerly employed at Presto Foods in Arlington for several years. She was a former resident of Memphis and Arlington before moving to the Somerville Community a number of years ago. Ms. McCulley was a Christian who enjoyed birds and flowers. Ms. McCulley will be remembered as a family-oriented person.

Ms. McCulley is survived by her daughter, Debbie Michael and husband, Eddie of Mason; her sister, Eron West of Walls, MS; and four grandsons, Steve Gafford, Josh Michael, Michael Mars and Billy Mars.

Ms. McCulley was preceded in death by her son, James Patrick Mars.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Danny West, Steve Gafford, Josh Michael, Chris Michael, Tim Michael and Eddie Michael.
