June (McMullen) Bain

June 18, 1941 — June 24, 2015

June McMullen Bain, age 74, resident of Cordova and wife of Billy C. Bain, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2015 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Bain were conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, June 27th at the Bethany Christian Church in Eads with Rev. Furniss B. Harkness, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Bain was born June 18, 1941 in Atoka. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey McMullen and Myrtle Rose McGowan McMullen. She was a graduate of Munford High School and was the wife of Billy C. Bain for 54½ years. She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of the Bethany Christian Church. Mrs. Bain was a resident of Cordova and enjoyed reading, gardening and quilting.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bain is survived by two daughters, Alicia Bain of Southaven, MS, Cheryl Runneberg (David) of Roanoke, Texas; two grandchildren, Christopher Runneberg of Spring, Texas, Maggie Runneberg of College Station, Texas; and her great grandson, Gavin Runneberg of Spring, Texas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Woelfe.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were David Runneberg, Christopher Runneberg, Gary Bryan, Jason Bryan, David Bragorgos and Dennis Keough.

Honorary casketbearers included Bo Rutledge.
