June Ann Nichols

February 26, 1928 — April 4, 2013

June Ann Baker Nichols, resident of Dunnellon, Florida with family members in Fayette and Tipton Counties departed this life Thursday morning, April 4, 2013 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis where she had been a patient for one week. She was 85 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Nichols were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 9th at the Graveside. Interment followed in the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Okemos, Michigan. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Nichols was born February 26, 1928 in Lansing, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Leonard Baker and Donna Edwina Goodrich Baker. She received her education in the Michigan Public School System and was married to Earnest Nichols, who died in August of 1995. She was a Communicant of the Episcopal Church. She was a resident of Colorado and Tennessee before moving to Florida 40 years ago.

She was a seamstress for over 50 years before her retirement two years ago. She enjoyed baking bread and cooking. Outdoor activities that included camping, fishing and travelling throughout the United States were favorite pastimes.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by four daughters, Kathy Pedersen of Atoka, TN, Elaine Carlock of Littleton, CO, Kim Boeskool of Colorado, Holly Bates of Florida; two sons, Barry Nichols of Orlando, FL, Ted Nichols of Atoka, TN; two sisters, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Nichols.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Road, Memphis, TN 38134 or the Ravenscroft Episcopal Church, 8219 Holly Grove Road, Brighton, TN 38011.
