J. W. Sain, resident of Holly Springs, MS, native Fayette Countian and husband of Betty Myers Sain died Monday morning, April 25, 2011 at his residence in Holly Springs. He was 75 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Sain were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with his brother, Richard Sain, Church of Christ minister at Whitwell, TN, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery at Oakland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Sain was born April 14, 1936 in Macon, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wickliff Sain and Laura Savana Trimm Sain. Mr. Sain was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of Tech High School in Memphis. He was married August 21, 1960 to the former Betty Charlene Myers of McCrory, Arkansas, who survives.
Mr. Sain served in the Air Force Reserves as a young person and was employed as a printer for Checks, Inc. in Memphis for many years before his retirement twelve years ago. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ throughout his life and served as a song leader in his church for many years. Mr. Sain will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing, hunting and gardening.
In addition to his wife of fifty years, survivors of Mr. Sain include his daughter: Vonda Gail Henderson of Clarksville, GA; his son: Barry Wade Sain (Myna) of Atlanta, GA; two sisters: Valeria Sprout of Parkersburg, WV, Patricia King (Robert) of Memphis; four brothers: Earl Sain (Glynn) of Memphis, Eugene Sain of Memphis, James Sain (Ruth) of Memphis, Richard Sain (Susan) of Whitwell, TN; four grandchildren: Miranda Sain, Madeline Sain, Ryan Henderson and Rachel Henderson.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers included Ryan Henderson, Robert King, David Sain and Tim Sain.
