Karen Virginia Rudd Davis, age 71, resident of the Oakland Community and wife of the late Hank Mills, departed this life Tuesday evening, July 28, 2015 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis.
Services and Interment for Karen were private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Karen was born November 23, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry W. Rudd and Elma Tull Rudd. She was a graduate of W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi and was a resident of Texas and Tennessee for much of her life. She was employed as a laboratory technician for Corpus Christi Spohn Hospital for many years before her retirement. Karen was a member of the Central Christian Church and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, special times with her family, friends and fur babies, bird watching, music and working puzzles. Her family states she was “one tough cookie”.
Karen leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Rhonda Brees of Oakland, Rebecca Klaevemann (Chris) of Taft, Texas; her sister, Donna Grace Rudd of Smyrna, GA; and grandchildren, Dillon Krumnow of Corpus Christi, Texas, Annaliese Krumnow of Austin, Texas, Taeler Klaevemann of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jorden Klaevemann of Round Rock, Texas, and Logan Klaevemann of Taft, Texas.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Methodist Hospice Residence, 6400 Shelby View Drive, Suite 101, Memphis, TN 38134 or the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030.
