Karin Liane (Ettel) Rouse

July 16, 1949 — April 28, 2014

Karin Liane Ettel Rouse, resident of the Collierville Community in Fayette County and wife of the late James William Rouse, departed this life Monday afternoon, April 28, 2014 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital where she had been a patient for four days. She was 64 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Rouse were conducted at 3 P.M. Friday, May 2nd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. John Ed Watkins of Somerville officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Rouse was born July 16, 1949 in Alsheim, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Ettel and Elfriede Ebert Ettel. She received her education in the School System of Germany and was the wife of James William Rouse, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rouse was a homemaker throughout her life and had been a resident of Fayette County for 35 years. She was a Christian and received much pleasure in living near her family in the Collierville and Fayette County areas. Outdoor activities including gardening and flowers were pleasures that Mrs. Rouse enjoyed. She looked forward to family gatherings and working crossword puzzles and reading were favorite pastimes.

Mrs. Rouse is survived by her daughter, Leah Rouse of Memphis; three sons, Robin Rouse (Vivian) of Collierville, Scott Rouse of Collierville, Shawn Rouse (LaShanda) of Batesville, MS; three granddaughters, two grandsons and two step grandsons. She is also survived by her niece, Nina Hirsch of Germany; her nephew, Dirk Hirsch of Germany; one great niece and one great nephew.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ute Hirsch.
