Kathryn Rives Luck
1917—2010
Mrs. Annie Kathryn Rives Luck, longtime resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Thomas Virgil Luck, Sr. died peacefully at her home on Saturday afternoon, October 2, 2010. She was 93 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Luck were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 6

at the First Presbyterian Church in Somerville with Rev. John Michael Krech, pastor of the Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Luck was born at Rossville, Tennessee on July 25, 1917. She was preceded in death by her parents Annie Mae Waller Rives, Joseph Boyd Rives, Sr. and
her step-mother, Rana Fisher Rives,
early residents of the Rossville Community. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married June 14, 1940 to the late Thomas Virgil Luck, Sr., Fayette County Judge and co-owner of the Farm-T-Market Company in Somerville for many years before his death on May 3, 1996.
Mrs. Luck was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and was longtime member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church. She had been a resident of Somerville for 60 years and enjoyed attending horse shows with her husband throughout the Mid-South.
Mrs. Luck is survived by her son, Thomas Virgil Luck, Jr. (Marjory) of Moscow, her sister, Betty Rives McKeehan (Casey) of Murrieta, California, her grandchildren, James Thomas Luck of Hickory Withe, Lauren Juliette Luck of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Brien Waller Luck (Xi Zhang) of Wuxi, China and her great-grandson, Samuel Rives Luck. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Belle Rives Sims, Beatrice Rives Slayden, Natalie Rives Phillips, Ruth Rives Garner, her brothers, William Christopher Rives and Joseph Boyd Rives, Jr.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers included were James Thomas Luck, Brien Waller Luck, Morris Graham and Joe B. Rives, Jr.
