Katie McBride Hagen, age 67, resident of Bartlett, retired manager for Mid-South Research Company and wife of the late James David Hagen, departed this life Friday afternoon, May 22, 2015 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hagen were conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 26th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bob McBride and Kenneth Mangrum, Sr., officiating. Interment followed in the Reid Cemetery at Eads. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Hagen was born May 5, 1948 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver C. McBride and Mary L. Johnston McBride. She received her education in Goodman, Mississippi and graduated in West Memphis, Arkansas. She was married in January of 1969 to James David Hagen, who preceded her in death. She was employed for 35 years with QuickTest Research, formerly Mid-South Research and Heakin Research, retiring as a manager. Mrs. Hagen was of the Christian faith and enjoyed reading, going to the beach and special times with her granddaughter. She will be remembered as a person dedicated to her work with a great love for her family.
Mrs. Hagen is survived by her son, Stephen Oliver Hagen (Cheri) of Somerville; five sisters, Edna Green (Ruben) of West, MS, Scarlett Goss of Longview, TX, Mellie Mangrum (Kenneth) of Ethel, MS, Jeanne Easley (Danny) of Houston, TX, Vickie Weaver (H.A.) of Rondo, AR; her brother, Ben McBride (Gail) of Oakland; her granddaughter, Alexis Kathryn Hagen of Cordova who recently graduated from Rossville Christian Academy; her best friend, Sandy Dugard of Cordova; and many nieces and nephews that adored and loved her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Cheryl Thompson, Chris Adomyetz, Jeri Lauderdale, Maxine Moss and her brother, Wayne McBride, Sr.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jeffrey Mangrum, Kenneth Mangrum, Sr., Kenneth Mangrum, Jr., Ruben Green, Marc Rios and H.A. Weaver.
Honorary casketbearers included Danny Easley.
