Kenneth Anton “Ken” Kaspar, age 93, resident of Eads, Tennessee and husband of the late Shirley Mae Garber Kaspar, departed this life Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2021 at the Memphis Jewish Home in Cordova, Tennessee.
Ken was born August 5, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Cyril M. Kaspar and Helen M. Lodl Kaspar. He was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant and was in the Korean War from January 1951 until October 1952. Ken was a lieutenant for the Hinsdale, Illinois Fire Department from September 1960 until September 1980. He was also an Emergency Medical Technician and involved in Civil defense.
Ken was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed sports, including playing baseball in his younger days and later coaching in Little League. He was also an avid Chicago Bears Fan but most of all, he enjoyed time together with his family.
Mr. Kaspar is survived by his son, Michael H. Kaspar (Debra) of Eads, TN; his daughter, Lorna H. Dixon (Scott) of New Port Richey, FL; six grandchildren, Austin Dixon (Cinnamon) of Tallahassee, FL, Kevin Kaspar (Mattie Chloe) of Atlanta, GA, Jason Kaspar (Tama) of Atlanta, GA, Kyle Dixon of Clearwater, FL, Steven Kaspar (Anna Laura) of Memphis, TN and Taylor Dixon (Denise) of St. Petersburg, FL; and three great-grandchildren, Jane Kennedy Kaspar, Azariah Natan Dixon and Eleanor Ruth Kaspar.
Mr. Kaspar was preceded in death by his wife who died December 22, 2020, Shirley Mae Garber Kaspar; his parents, Cyril and Helen Kaspar; two sons, Steven C. Kaspar and Ronald M. Kaspar; and his brother, Melvin Kaspar.
Funeral Services for Mr. Kaspar will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel located at 9000 Washington Avenue, Racine, WI 53406. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. A visitation for Mr. Kaspar will be from 11 to 11:30 A.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel.
