Kevin Lee Scheiterlein, a resident of the Hickory Withe Community, FedEx Pilot, United States Veteran and husband of Dana Henriksen Scheiterlein died Sunday evening, March 28, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. He was 52 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Funeral Services with Military Honors were conducted for Mr. Scheiterlein at 4 P.M. Saturday, April 3rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. John Michael Krech, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. Scheiterlein was born January 24, 1952 in Detroit Michigan, the son of the late Frederick R. Scheiterlein and Margorie J. Krupp Scheiterlein, who survives. He attended schools in Michigan and was a graduate of Michigan State University. Mr. Sheiterlein served in the U.S. Navy where he continued his education and became a pilot. He was employed as a pilot with FedEx since 1989. He was married February 7, 1987 to the former Dana L. Henriksen, a homemaker and native of California, who survives.
He was a Christian and a resident of Fayette County since 1996. His many interests included flying, boating, sailing and skiing. He had a passion for farming and tractors and will be remembered as a "people-person" with a deep love for his family.
In addition to his mother and his wife of twenty-three years, survivors of Mr. Scheiterlein include his daughter, Kyra Scheiterlein of Hickory Withe; his son, Robby Scheiterlein who is a student at the University of California at Los Angeles and his mother-in-law, Maxine Henriksen of Hickory Withe.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
