Klaus Karl Heck, resident of the Somerville Community, retired Interior Decorator and husband of Eleonore Heck died Wednesday morning, November 24, 2010 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
He was 64 years of age and died following a three month illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Heck were conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, November 27
th
2010 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Don Hammons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in District 15, officiating. Interment followed the Somerville City Cemetery and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Heck was born in Heidelberg, Germany on November 17, 1946 to the late Hertha Heck and the late William Thomas Fowler. He was educated in the Heidelberg, Germany school system and served in the German Air Force. Mr. Heck was married October 20, 1967 to the former Eleonore Drossel, who survives. In earlier years he was a member of the Perkeo Fanfarenzug Marching Band, a famous band in Germany, where he played drums for eighteen years.
Mr. and Mrs. Heck were residents of Fayette County for the past twenty-three years. He was an interior decorator in past years and was employed by the RAPAC Corporation in Oakland before retiring for health reasons. He was a Catholic and his interests included swimming, walking, traveling and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Heck is survived by his daughter Christina Oaks (James Cannon, II), his son, Andreas Heck (Leslie White) and his grandson, James Cannon, III, all of Somerville.

David Voyles, Harry Kennin, Klaus Glueck and Frank Kelty.
