Larry Ray Johnson, age 73, resident of Collierville, Tennessee, departed this life Saturday morning, November 13, 2021 at his home.
Larry was born January 9, 1948 in Eads, Tennessee, the son of the late Douglas Johnson and Janie Butler Johnson. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War period as a SP5. He was employed as a lead foreman at The Carrier Corporation for 54 years before his retirement. Larry was a member of Eads Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Johnson is sur vived by his significant other, Geraldine Stokes of Collierville, TN; three daughters, Amy Sanders (Lloyd) of Cedarville, AR, Ruthie Daugherty of Westerville, OH and Christy Thornton of Jackson, TN; three sons, Phillip Johnson (Katie) of Grand Junction, TN, Stevie Wilson (Janet) of Horseshoe Lake, AR and Chris Stokes (Stephanie) of Southaven, MS; his sister, Sylvia Johnson-Smith of Eads, TN; three brothers, Karl Johnson (Caren) of Eads, TN, David Johnson (Phyllis) of Eads, TN and Robert Johnson (Phyllis) of Eads, TN; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Ray Johnson; two sisters, Beverly Sue Graves and Patricia Johnson McCarter; and his brother, Jerry Johnson.
Funeral Services for Mr. Johnson were held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Cecil Bellew officiating. Interment followed in the Eads Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Chris Stokes, Robert Johnson, Karl Johnson, David Johnson, Tyler Peeler and Mason Stokes.
