Larry Edward Terry

Larry Edward Terry, age 80, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Mary Wilkinson Terry, departed this life Sunday evening, February 25, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Terry was held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Somerville First Baptist Church with Bro. Stan Smith, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Terry was born August 5, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of James William Terry and Lena Ellen Rogers Terry. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School and was married June 5, 1959 to the former Mary Wilkinson. He enjoyed working as a maintenance facility manager for Ford Motor Company and also worked as an electrician, plumber, contractor and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Terry was a member of Somerville First Baptist Church and worked with the Stage Hand Union, setting up for special events, concerts and supervising sporting events. He was also a volunteer for United Way and enjoyed flying airplanes.

Mr. Terry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Wilkinson Terry of Somerville, TN; two sons, Larry Edward Terry, Jr. (Sarah) of Memphis, TN, William Scott Terry (Christine) of Bartlett, TN; two sisters, Beverly Pence of Mountain Home, AR, Betty Litton of Arlington, TN; and two grandchildren, Samantha Terry of Bartlett, TN and Lauren Rouse of Memphis, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.W. Terry and Raymond Terry and his granddaughter, Mary Gwendolyn “Gwen” Terry.
