Laura (Hulbert) Teel

September 29, 1958 — November 15, 2013

Laura Hulbert Teel, resident of Holly Springs, Mississippi, former secretary at Rossville Academy and wife of Chris Teel departed this life Friday morning, November 15, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville where she had been a patient for one day. She was 55 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Graveside Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Teel were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, November 16th at the Carey Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi. The officiating minister was Rev. Barry Littlefield, pastor of Carey Chapel Baptist Church. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Teel was born September 29, 1958 in Memphis, the daughter of Donald Hulbert and the late Bobbi Hollowell Hulbert. She received her education in the Collierville Public School System and was a graduate of the Collierville High School. She was married November 12, 1977 to Donald Christopher Teel, an employee of Sparks Farm in Lamar, Mississippi, who survives.

Mrs. Teel had been a resident of the Holly Springs area for the past 36 years and was a member of the Carey Chapel Baptist Church. She formerly served as a secretary for the Rossville Academy and was also as a teller at the Mt. Pleasant Office of the First State Bank before her illness. She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter who will be remembered as a person who enjoyed all types of animals and pets.

In addition to her husband of 36 years, Mrs. Teel is survived by her daughter, Christy Teel Abell (Mike) of Collierville; her son, Cody Teel of Holly Springs, MS; her father, Donald Hulbert of Holly Springs, MS; and her brother, Donnie Hulbert of Dallas, TX.

Pallbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Marshall or Shelby County Chapters of the American Cancer Society, 718 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103.
