Laura Jean Dawson Wolf, age 69, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and wife of the late Bruce Wolf, died Wednesday afternoon, August 9, 2017 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She passed peacefully and was surrounded by her children and close friends.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Wolf were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Eddie Little, pastor of First Baptist Church Hickory Withe, officiating. Remarks were given by Celeste Koglin and Jenny Haynes. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Wolf was born June, 1948 in Pasadena, California, the daughter of the late Jack Lewis Dawson and the late Kathryn Mabel (Washburn) Dawson Litchfield. She was a longtime resident of Bartlett before moving to Oakland 3 years ago. She was married in 1990 to Bruce Wolf, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2013. Mrs. Wolf was a member of First Baptist Church Hickory Withe. She took joy in reading her Bible and was an active member of the Yahoo's and involved with the Bridging the Gap ministry. She felt blessed for every day she was given and was determined to live each day to the fullest. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting vintage and antique books. She was a lifelong Raider fan and looked forward to the start of every football season. Mrs. Wolf cherished and spent most of her time with her friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and an infectious laugh; those who spent any time with her, couldn't help but smile and laugh right along with her. She was a true blessing and a gift to all who knew her.
Mrs. Wolf is survived by her daughter, Jenny Haynes of Oakland, TN; her son, Garry Larsen of Nashville TN; her brother, John Dawson of Benton KY; her sister, Judy Dawson of Benton KY; her brother-in-law, Michael Wolf of Floral Park, NY; three grandchildren, Kristina Williams, Timothy Anderson, Ashley White; and five great-grandchildren, Meghan Haynes, Elizabeth Ford, Ryleigh Williams, Evan Williams and Ashton Farran.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by her brother, James Dawson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe - Haiti Fund, 17675 U.S. Highway 196, Eads, TN 38028.
