Lavern Adair Fowler, resident of the
Arlington Community, native Fayette Countian and wife of Ray Fowler
died Saturday afternoon, December 4, 2010 at her residence. She was 68 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Fowler were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, December 6
th
at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel near Oakland with Bro. Billy Adair of Moscow, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Somerville on September 15, 1942. Her parents preceded her in death, Herbert Adair and Vance Gooch Adair. She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was married on July 20, 1966 to Ray Fowler, retired Electric Meter Field Technician, who survives.
Mrs. Fowler lived in the Moscow Community as a young person and was a member of the 45 Baptist Church near Moscow. She had been a resident of the Arlington Community for thirty-two years and in earlier year was employed in the Custom Jewelry Department of Dunbar Enterprises located in the Fisherville Community.
A people person with an outgoing personality, Mrs. Fowler enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning food for her family and fishing. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and was a lifelong resident of the Arlington and Fayette County areas.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fowler leaves her daughters, Teresa Cannon of Somerville, Dianne Russell of Germantown, Debora Willis of Lakeland and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren and a sister.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were
Sherman Adair, Austin Farley, Mike Lewis, Allen Poe, Oliver Richardson and Jonathan Snider.
Honorary casketbearers were
Billy Joe Adair and David Adair.
