Lavern Lucille “Pete” Perry Lepard, age 87, resident of Memphis and wife of the late James Edward Sherrill and the late Carlos Lepard, departed this life Wednesday evening, July 15, 2015 at the Ashton Place Rehab & Care Center in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Lepard will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 18th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery at Millington. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Lepard was born August 2, 1927 in Lucy, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Perry, Sr. and Grace Pannell Perry. She received her education in the Lucy Community and Millington Public School Systems and was a resident of West Tennessee all of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and was employed as a clerk in the manufacturing industry for a number of years before her retirement. Mrs. Lepard enjoyed preparing food and special times with her family.
Mrs. Lepard is survived by two sons, Ronnie Sherrill (Linda) of Memphis, Larry Sherrill (Gina) of Millington; her brother, Douglas Perry (Carolyn) of California; two grandchildren, Brandon Sherrill (Apryl) of Arlington, TN, Tiffany Sherrill of Memphis; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Perry and William Thomas Perry, Jr.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 713 S. Mendenhall Road, Memphis, TN 38119.
