Leon Nubie Culver, age 69, resident of Byhalia, Mississippi, departed this life Monday, May 27, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral Services were held at 12 P.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Interment followed in the Old Macedonia Cemetery near Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.
Leon was born September 5, 1949 in Gillett, Arkansas, the son of the late Nubie Culver and Helen Mae Ford Culver. He received his education in Gillett, Arkansas and was a former resident of Byhalia, Mississippi. He was employed as a sheetrock hanger for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Leon was an active person who enjoyed horseback riding, basketball and kids.
Mr. Culver is survived by his daughter, Tammy Williams (Charles) of Lexington, AL; four sons, Kenny Culver of Lexington, AL, Nicholas Culver (Boyce) of Memphis, TN, Jeremy Culver (Macie) of Memphis, TN, Donte Tyron Culver of Miami, FL; his stepson, Larry Keith Griffin, Jr. (Kit) of Horn Lake, MS; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves two special ex-wives, Diane Jones of Killen, AL, Sandy Milburn of Horn Lake, MS; his ex-wife, Shawne Boyce Culver; and a special daughter-in-law, Beth Schroyer of Byhalia, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Culver; his stepson, Tommy Harvey; three brothers, J.D. Peer, Bud Peer, William “Duke” Pippenger; and his sister, Betty Reed.
