Lessie Mae (Rhodes) Williams

Lessie Mae Rhodes Williams, age 91, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and retired from Malone & Hyde, departed this life Thursday evening, May 14, 2015 at the Spring Gate Healthcare Center in Memphis.
Mrs. Williams was born September 1, 1923 in Parsons, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Rhodes and Tennie Lunsford Rhodes. She received her education in the Decatur County School System and was the wife of Loyd Hammer, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee and a member of the Hickory Withe First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Betty Brakefield (Norman) of Hickory Withe; her son, Robert Hammer of Bartlett; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bennie Williams, four sisters and seven brothers.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Hickory Withe First Baptist Church, 17675 U.S. Highway 196, Eads, TN 38028.
