Levi Cannon, age 91, resident of Somerville and retired farmer, departed this life Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Cannon were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Larry Adair, pastor of the New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee, officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the District 15 Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Cannon was born May 7, 1924 in Somerville. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area. He was of the Christian faith and was a farmer for much of his life. He enjoyed outdoor activities that included hunting and trading coon dogs.
Mr. Cannon is survived by sister, Lula Anthony (Randy) of Somerville; three brothers, Lemuel Cannon (Betty) of Somerville, Clifton Cannon (Martha) of Somerville, Bill Cannon of Somerville; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Cannon and Darthula Phillips Cannon; three sisters, Elizabeth Adair, Nannie Spicer, Nedia Mae Feathers; and four brothers, Grady Cannon, Reece Cannon, John Dave Cannon and Raymond Cannon.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jon Hurdle, Gabriel Hurdle, Nathan Burns, Jonathan Snider, Jorge Zaragoza, Garry Gammel and Brandon Fielden.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, c/o Emily Joyce Douglas, 514 Oak Street, Somerville, Tennessee 38068.
