Lew Limberg
1934—2010
Lewis M. “Lew” Limberg, resident of the Laconia Community, retired steamfitter and U.S. Army Veteran died Sunday morning December 12, 2010
at his residence. He was 76 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Private Family Services for Mr. Limberg were conducted on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the graveside. Interment with Military recognition followed in the Calvary Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Limberg was born April 13, 1934 in Memphis, the son of Karl Frederick Limberg, Sr. and Margaret Mette Limburg. He was educated in Memphis Parochial Schools and served stateside in the United States Army during the Korean War period. Mr. Limberg was employed for over thirty years with the Memphis Area Steamfitters Union before his retirement sixteen years ago. He was of the Methodist faith and had been a resident of Fayette County for the past twenty-five years.
Mr. Limberg enjoyed fellowshipping with his Somerville First United
Methodist Church friends and his coffee shop breakfast friends in local restaurant. His interests included target and trap shooting, nature and caring for his property and pond.
Survivors of Mr. Limberg include his former wife and mother of his children, Peggy Limberg of Collierville, his two daughters, Cathy Powers of Somerville, Teresa Chambliss of Hernando, his two sons, Steve Limberg of Collierville, Ron Limberg (Brenda) of Lakeland, his granddaughter, Amy Chambliss, and his two great-grandsons, Andon and Dalton Chambliss. In addition to his parents, Mr. Limberg was preceded in death by his son, Martin Lewis Limberg.
