Elizabeth Ann "Libba" Morris, age 76, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community and wife of Carlton Morris died at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville.
Services for Mrs. Morris were held at 3 Sunday afternoon at the Somerville First Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. A rrangements were provided by the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somervi lle.
Mrs. Morris was born May 10, 1936 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Grady Morris and Lottie Clyde Winter Morris. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and continued her education at Blue Mountain College.
On October 17, 1958, Mrs. Morris married Carlton Morris, retired owner of Morris Grocery Store, who survives. Mrs. Morris taught Home Economics at Fayette Academy and was an active member of Somerville First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU and involved in Bible Studies. She enjoyed golfing, reading, sewing, playing the piano, cooking and special times with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Morris is survived by two daughters, Carla Beth Garcia (Bubba) of Columbia, SC, Dianna Dik (Daniel) of Collierville; her brother, Bobby Morris (Bonnie) of Somerville; two sisters-in-law, Petesey Bedwell of Somerville, Anne Carr of Florida; four grandchildren, Rachel Brake (Eric Brake) of Birmingham, AL, Derrick Rose of Columbia, SC, Matthew Curtis of Collierville, Carley Ann Dik of Collierville; and a great granddaughter, Savannah Beth Brake.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by a great grandson, Weston Brake.
