Lillian Pearl (Roberson) Buffaloe

May 11, 1929 — July 23, 2017

Lillian Pearl Roberson Buffaloe, age 88, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Clyde H. Buffaloe, Jr., departed this life Sunday morning, July 23, 2017 at the Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar, Tennessee.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Buffaloe were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Kevin Treadway officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Buffaloe was born May 11, 1929 in Fayette County, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1947 and attended Memphis State University for two years. She was married May 11, 1946 to Clyde Hess Buffaloe, Jr. and she was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area. Mrs. Buffaloe and her husband were managers at Bluegrass Apartments in Somerville before their retirement. She was a member of Somerville First Baptist Church where she was formerly a Sunday School teacher for 4 and 5-year old’s and sang in the Senior Adult Choir for over 40 years. Mrs. Buffaloe was a member of M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). She enjoyed sewing, knitting and golfing.

Mrs. Buffaloe is survived by her daughter, Teresa Terry of Somerville, TN; her son, Clyde H. Buffaloe III (Joy) of Somerville, TN; two sisters, Shelva Ashcraft (J.D.) of Somerville, TN, Margie Webb of Somerville, TN; five grandchildren, Angel Terry of Somerville, TN, Monica Terry of Memphis, TN, Jessica Rigsby (Joel) of Horn Lake, MS, Jennifer Kee (Mike) of Somerville, TN, Kelley Green (Dina) of Oakland, TN; and four great-grandchildren, Dustin Kee, Colby Kee, Nikki Green and Austin Green.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde H. Buffaloe, Jr. who died December 26, 2010; her parents, James L. Roberson and Gertrude Virginia Leath Roberson; and four brothers, Sidney Earl Roberson, Charles Roberson, Walter Roberson and Pete Roberson.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Kelley Green, Dustin Kee, Colby Kee, Josh Lanzarotto, Carlton Chambers and Randy Chambers. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Kee, Charles Sidney Roberson, Mark Roberson, Earl Dowdy and Willie Jeff Wiles.
