Lillian "Lilly" Margaret (Dion) Perkey

December 23, 1927 — May 5, 2016

Lillian Margaret "Lilly" Dion Perkey, age 88, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Earl Leroy Perkey, Sr., departed this life Thursday evening, May 5, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Perkey were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. The officiating ministers were Rev. Mike Pilcher and Rev. Paul Lore. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel in Somerville.

Mrs. Perkey was born December 23, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. She received her education in the Illinois School System and was married March 6, 1948 to Earl Leroy Perkey, Sr. She was a resident of the Somerville Community since 1976 and was a homemaker throughout her life. Mrs. Perkey was of the Catholic faith and an avid New York Yankees and Memphis Grizzlies fan. She enjoyed scrapbooking and watching old black-and-white movies.

Mrs. Perkey is survived by three daughters, Nancy Butler of Somerville, Ellen Jones and her husband, Danny Logan, of Somerville, Christine Parks and her husband, Wesley, of Somerville; two sons, Michael Perkey of Memphis, Dino Perkey of Somerville; four nieces, Elizabeth Escalente, Alice Pitluck, Lillian Hubl, Diane Bartlett; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Leroy Perkey, Sr. who died February 28, 2005; her parents, Louis Walter Dion and Marie Johanson Dion; three daughters, Susan Rooneo, Linda Prouse, Earlene McNeilly; three sisters, Louise Dion Anderson, Alice Dion Goodyear, Florence Dion; and four half-brothers, Hugh Curtis, John Curtis, Raymond Curtis and Timothy Curtis.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Anthony Perkey, Donald Jones, Steve McNeilly, Ryan Logan, Scott McNeilly, Steve Perkey, Dustin Prouse and Aaron Prouse.
