Linda Lee Sparks Ferron

LINDA LEE SPARKS FERRON, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of retired U.S. Air Force Major, Peter A. Ferron, died at 11 P.M. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown where she had been a patient for the past six days. She was 70 years of age and died following an illness of several months.
Services were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday February 4th at the Highland Heights Presbyterian Church located in Cordova with Rev. James Quillin, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in the Shilow Cemetery at Gurdon, AR. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home - West Chapel of Oakland.
A native of Clark County, Arkansas, Mrs. Ferron was born May 26, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles Garland Sparks and the late Nannie Sue Ross Sparks. She was educated in the public school system of Gurdon and Arkadelphia, AR and was a graduate of the Arkadelphia High School. Mrs. Ferron served as a office secretary in earlier years and was married December 30, 1959, to Peter P. Ferron, a retired United States Air Force Major and pilot flight instructor for Federal Express in Memphis.
Mrs. Ferron resided in various locations of the United States and overseas during her husband's military career. She was a former resident of the Cordova Community before moving to Fayette County four years ago.
She was a member of the Highland Heights Presbyterian Church and while living in Fayette County, attended the Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ferron was a family oriented person who will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and her enjoyment of flowers, gardening and caring for family pets.
In addition to her husband, Mr. Ferron is survived by her daughter, Melanie Simmonds (Mark) of Memphis, her step-daughter, Lucy Ferron of Jackson, MS, her step-son, Peter Ferron, III of Alexandria, VA, two sisters, Sue Rudolph of Springdale, AR and Sarah Franklin of Gurdon, AR.
The family requests that memorials be directd to the building fund of the Highland Heights Presbyterian Church, 2855 Morning Sun Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
