Linda (Simmons) Garcia

Linda Simmons Garcia, age 70, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of Ray Garcia, Jr., departed this life Thursday evening, December 6, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Garcia were held at 2 P.M. Monday, December 10, 2018 at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Matthew Watkins officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel in Somerville.

Linda was born June 25, 1948 in Moscow, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1966 and was married May 8, 1977 to Raymond “Ray” Garcia, Jr. She was employed at Le & R Restaurant in Moscow in earlier years and was a beautician in Moscow, Memphis and the surrounding areas for many years before her retirement. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Linda was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed special times with her family.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ray Garcia, Jr. of Moscow, TN; her son, Ray Garcia III of Moscow, TN; her stepdaughter, Raelynn Garcia of Oakland, TN; her stepson, Richard Garcia of Columbia, SC; her sister, Sue German of Moscow, TN; her brother, Ed Simmons of Iuka, MS; three step-granddaughters and one step-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood Woodrow Simmons and Freddie Mae Wiley Simmons, and two sisters, Carolyn Tacker and Peggy Williams.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ricky Reeves, Greg Reeves, Marvin German, Jr., Joe Long, Ricky Williams and Brandon Williams.
